POSITION:              Student Success Coordinator

JOB GOAL:            The Student Success Coordinator assists students in establishing an informed career pathway plan while identifying barriers and closely monitoring students’ academic progress. This plan will connect pupils and participants with the resources to overcome identified barriers.  The Coordinator monitors student academic progress by working closely with students and staff and offers resources and interventions that will enhance success.  The Coordinator also supports ongoing student and program assessment and partners with outside agencies for support.

SUPERVISOR:         Adult Education Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social work or other human services related field. Minimum three years experience in a related field. Experience working with non-traditional student populations, preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop Career Pathway Plans through Educational Development Plans (EDP) and Adult Learning Plans (ALP).
  • Identify pupil and participant barriers and provide them with resources and support.
  • Coordinate student intervention strategies with staff.
  • Coordinate college visits and employability skill training.
  • Plan and organize a college and FAFSA night event for students.
  • Manage new enrollment orientations and registrations.
  • Prepare or help prepare any documents for students to present to outside agencies (i.e. Social Security, Friend of the Court, Department of Human Services, etc.).
  • Proctor HSE & other assessments as needed.
  • Administer the SAT and MDE required test to eligible students annually.
  • Coordinate tutoring efforts with students who may need additional assistance.
  • Meet with students outside of school setting, if needed
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with WDA requirements for High School Completion and GED participants including Adult Learning Plans, Educational Development Plans, CASAS Assessments, MAERS Data, and follow up information.
  • Assist in creating transcripts for all HSC and GED students.
  • Assist in tracking and update transcripts when students earn credits.
  • Assist in providing guidance and direction to students regarding coursework, test out options, program choice, and eligibility.
  • Assist in graduation ceremony by obtaining Delta Scholarship, ordering caps and gowns and diplomas, organizing and tracking eligible graduates, and participating in the ceremony.
  • Assist Supervisor and instructors with student discipline issues and document any incident reports, suspensions or other disciplinary action.
  • May be primary contact in the absence of the Supervisor.
