POSITION:                 ASD Special Education Paraprofessional      
LOCATION:                Charlotte Middle School
SALARY:                   $10.02 hourly
STATUS:                    Full time, 6.75 hours/day:  Monday-Friday, 7:15AM – 2:30PM                              
JOB SUMMARY:      A Special Education Paraprofessional may be described as a program aide. Special Education Paraprofessionals will have responsibilities for performing a variety of functions to support students with special needs within the school environment. The role of the paraprofessional is to provide additional support in the classroom/lunchroom/playground.  The paraprofessional’s goal is to assist in providing a well-organized, smooth functioning classroom/school environment in which all children can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. 
QUALIFICATIONS:   Must be a high school graduate.  Must pass district paraprofessional testing.  Able to communicate effectively with staff, parents, and students in a courteous and professional manner.  Must have previous experience with special education students within the designated classification in the past three years is required.  CPI training required.  Willingness to learn new technology and techniques.  Able to establish and follow routines.  Ability to be flexible in various situations.  Ability to maintain discipline, tact, courtesy and good judgment.  Ability to maintain confidentiality.
