TITLE: Transformation Specialist

LOCATION: Benton Harbor High School

SUPERVISOR:  Superintendent/CEO

JOB SUMMARY:  The Transformation Specialist will provide technical support to the High School staff to meet the challenges faced with developing, administering, and implementing the reform efforts.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of two years leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s in Education preferred
  • Proven ability to meet the challenges of an urban-rural, multi-racial, multi-ethnic school district.
  • Other qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the building leadership in improving the quality of learning in the classroom.
  • Required to actively participate and support the District Leadership initiatives and goals.
  • Assist with implementing all aspects of the School Improvement Plan.
  • Assist the Superintendent in monitoring the implementation of the reform plan.
  • Assist building leadership create systems and structures for disruptive behaviors in the school environment.
  • Support building leadership in their efforts to improve student achievement.
  • Engage in on site observation of building leadership on a regular basis.
  • Establish safe and effective learning environment that supports peer feedback.
  • Provide purposeful, timely and goal-aligned feedback to building leadership.
  • Assist in formally assessing the principal’s implementation of the School Improvement Plan and District goals.
  • Monitor progress and revise the plan as needed in order to reach the District desired goals.
  • Provide input and feedback to the Superintendent in order to improve support and guidance to building leadership.
  • Utilize district personnel, resources and partners to support building leadership.
  • Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality and accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the District.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with the parents/families tactfully and courteously and to work harmoniously with other employees.
  • Ability to work with students with many different learning styles.
  • Be proficient in the use of technology.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and policies.

 

Physical Demands:    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.

 

Terms of Employment:

This is a 225 workday position.  Salary based on education and experience pursuant to the District policies.

 

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the  Superintendent.
