Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Michigan Teacher Certification.
- At least five years of successful teaching experience.
- Master's degree or equivalent graduate coursework from an accredited college or university. (Curriculum/ Educational Leadership emphasis preferred.)
- Upon hire candidate must have qualifications to apply for a School Administrator Permit or possess and or be eligible for Michigan Administrator Certification within three years of appointment in accordance with Public Act 1010 of 2012.
- Possess and be able to articulate and share a compelling vision of what a successful school should be in order to best assure the success of all students.
- Knowledge of data-driven school improvement planning in order to increase student achievement, facilitate professional learning communities, study groups, targeted intervention and enrichment programs, and parent involvement.
- Be a team leader who capitalizes on the talents of all staff, including all members of the administrative team in the planning and decision making process of running a school.
- An understanding of current educational research, concepts and instructional and management/supervisory strategies which are recognized as effective in meeting the needs of all students, staff and community.
- Demonstrated and verifiable record of excellent, positive and productive relationships with students and student organizations and a commitment to equal opportunity for all.
- Experience in budgeting, budget monitoring, and budget reporting is preferred.
- A strong understanding of Title I grant funded programs, with an ability to coordinate Title I instructional programs and monitor compliance of those programs.
- Demonstrates an ability to use academic and social emotional data in the MTSS process to plan and monitor individual student needs and coordinate grant funded programs for students.
- Organize and maintain evidence of procedures to follow and monitor student progress.
- Ability to coordinate Title I programs to develop or strengthen professional skills in teachers and other staff members.
- Conduct, assist with and oversee Title 1 parent engagement activities to enhance student learning at home as well as at school and increase collaboration between schools and students’ families.
- Possess an understanding and commitment to the time obligations and rigor imposed upon a school administrator.
