Position:                     Secondary Principal



  • Michigan Teaching Certificate and five (5) years successful teaching experience
  • Michigan School Administrator Certificate or enrolled in a planned program to obtain it
  • Master’s Degree or higher in school administration or related educational field required
  • Evaluates performance and effectiveness of programs and staff, and coordinates professional development for staff
  • Works with Business Manager on budgeting/purchasing and fellow administrators and staff towards the accomplishment of district goals.
  • Leads and participates in district-wide activities, professional development days, committees, and events as appropriate.
  • Interacts with students in a constructive manner to encourage each individual to perform at their highest level.
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to use data to improve learning
  • Implement policy and procedure changes from the Board, State, and Federal government at the building level.

Job Goal:                  

  • To administer a quality educational experience for students in 9th through 12th grade based on the goals, curriculum, and philosophy of Shelby Public Schools
