University of Detroit Mercy
Position Details:

The iDRAW (innovating Detroit’s Robotics Agile Workforce) program consists of a comprehensive set of interventions that seek to reduce barriers for underrepresented high school students to enter STEM careers. Integral to this program is a set of six dual-enrollment courses that will be developed and taught on site of the program’s partner high schools.

The iDRAW Instructor position will be responsible for the primary instruction of each initial offering of a course at a new high school, with assistance of a classroom high school teacher. The iDRAW Instructor will also have responsibility for training their high school co-instructor so that the high school teacher is able to take over responsibility for the course in subsequent years. This position may also contribute to curriculum development and dissemination, as well as management of student teaching assistants.

Courses that will be developed and taught relate to robotics generally, but could cover topics ranging from electronics and programming, to IT and mechanical design. The goal is to prepare students for different career paths ranging from engineering and technician-level jobs, to careers in the skilled trades.
