Position Details: 




  • Master’s degree in education-related area
  • Administrative Certification preferred, (required within three years)
  • Special Education Supervisor Approval preferred, (required within three years)
  • Special Education Endorsement in at least one area
  • Early Childhood or Center Based Program experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and public relation skills with all people
  • Use technology as an instructional, communication, and organizational tool
  • Be accurate, efficient, and timely in compliance with HISD policies
  • Able to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • High moral character and regular in-person attendance required
  • Able to lift and/or push up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to pass a background check



  • Experienced in best instructional practices and able to coach staff to implement research-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Focus on student achievement and knowledge of prevention, early intervention, and education programs and services for students with varying abilities
  • Visionary leadership and a proven track record of successful leadership in progressively more responsible roles
  • Compliant with Federal and State regulations; MARSE and HISD policies
  • Complete necessary reports, budgets and related business procedures
  • Appreciation for and ability to work with a diverse community of people
  • Coordination of State Assessments
  • Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior
  • Facilitate PLCs and other collaborative teams
  • Assist with leadership of the School Improvement process
  • Foster a community of learners who rely on data and seek continuous improvement
  • Coordinate Special Olympics
  • Expertise in behavior management, participation in CPI
  • Assist in developing Individual Educational Plans
  • Implement an effective staff evaluation process focused on professional growth
  • Support staff in the mentoring process
  • Lead committees, such as technology, safety, positive behavior support
  • Continue professional growth and leadership development
  • Participate in administrative teams at district, local, regional, and state levels
  • Other duties as assigned

Terms of Employment:

210-day position, 8 hours per day.  Wage and benefits, per Administrative Contract.

       Start date: Monday, July 1, 2019
