Job Description

Position Opportunity:

Under the general direction of the administrator, and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Ingham Intermediate School District, this position is responsible for providing support services to identified students with disabilities who are enrolled in regular, vocational or special education and for providing consultation to educational personnel on behalf of their caseload students. Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree and three to five years of teaching experience.
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with special education endorsement in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorder or a willingness to seek one of these endorsements with an existing endorsement in another special education area.           
  • Knowledge and experience in programming for students with ASD of various ages.
  • Knowledge and experience in consulting with regular and special education teachers.
  • Knowledge and experience in facilitating integration of students with ASD with their general education peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize and multi-task effectively. 
  • Ability to work successfully as a collaborative member of a team and work independently.

Working Conditions:

  • The Teacher Consultant will be provided office space within educational settings. 
  • This position may require daily travel, for which the staff member must provide transportation.
